In this black and white photograph of Bennett’s dam in Guilford, Vermont, there are four people: Charles, Eleanor, and Leon Ogden, and Leon Thayer. Everyone is wearing a shirt with his or her “bathing trunks,” even the boys. The setting is Bennett’s Dam. Bennett’s Dam is “in back of the Deuchme house on Bonnyvale road.” There is someone wearing a bathing cap in the background. There are deciduous and evergreen trees in the foreground and background. The water looks shallow. It appears to be a sunny summer day.

This photo was taken in the 1930’s. We couldn’t find any reference to Bennett’s Dam in the official history of Guilford, but the Bennett’s were a well-known family in Guilford.
